Hi Ele, thanks for your comment. I generally don’t give GPS coordinates to find all the most interesting areas, as they’re all interesting if you don’t know what you’ll find. Give yourself some time, poke around, explore, and you’ll find all sorts of wonderful things. You’ll probably find stuff that isn’t featured on this site. I’m only scratching the surface. I didn’t find the mosaic myself the first couple of times I was there. So that’s why I don’t give the GPS coordinates. I’m happy to point you in the general direction, but I don’t want to make it too easy – that would spoil the fun.

Hello @spudnik, could you please give GPS coordinates to find all the most interesting areas, such as the mosaic and the hammer and sickle (if it is still there)? Thank you!

I can only recommend visiting there in winter. You see so much more. In summer, the robinias cover almost all buildings and lines of sight. Photo tours take place there one weekend a month for a hefty fee. The only so-called “guide” on site is just sitting his ass off and is no danger. All buildings are open and it is worth checking whether you have seen the entire building. In many cases, Soviet users walled up corridors or stairwells. Therefore there are often multiple entrances.

We went here today. We got stopped by a guy with a clip board. He was nice enough but wanted us to leave immediately. We stayed but kept low. It’s so big that you can do that. Very cool spot

You’ll find some other people but not a lot. But if you want to explore everything you have to go there more than once. I only got to see abou a third of everything. Would recomend!!!

Very easy access and the only others I met (except the shadows that made me jump) were a family with their newborn baby in a stroller, and the searing summer heat. Made a video covering most of the buildings in the “main area” if you want to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXskCgUbyxE

It was very easy to get in – I followed the paths from the east, which are clearly marked on Google Maps when you zoom in close enough on your phone. Over the dodgy bridge and I bumped in to a local runner exiting the site. He gave me a cheery greeting and a knowing wink – clearly he is there regularly doing laps of the site and I imagine he never has an issue with security. I certainly saw nobody else once I entered the site. I had the place completely to myself and came and went wherever I wanted. The sheer scale of the place is immense – I only saw a tiny fraction of all of the rooms and buildings and really enjoyed it. The inside of the buildings offered a great respite from the 35 degree midday heat outside! This location is recommended for anyone wanting a relatively easy, unbothered visit to a fascinating destination.

Hi Jasmin, I don’t really want to spoil the fun for everyone, so if you really need to know where it is, get in touch through email or Instagram and I’ll send you the details there.
Hope you understand.
