SPREEpark

It all started with Spreepark one magical afternoon in 2009 when I* finally gathered enough courage to hop over a fence not knowing what lurked on the other side. It was incredible, just wonderful, and it inspired me to research what had happened there the second I got home. I wrote up what I found and provided a little guide so others might enjoy it too, and it became the first adventure of many to be documented on what was to become Abandoned Berlin.

All the photos from over the years are now here on this page, starting with the first in 2009, and showing Spreepark’s deterioration and ever dwindling number of dinosaurs. We can’t blame an asteroid this time.

Mystery of the missing mammoth

Mystery of the missing mammoth

AB’s last sighting of the mammoth was on April 22, 2014. He or she was no longer in Spreepark on May 9. So someone made off with the mammoth in those two weeks. Who?
