The big building is still there, but impossible to enter. There’s a small shed kids seem to like to party in and you can play ping pong there if you fancy a more quiet place for your sport.

went there yesterday. unfortunately (or furtunately?…) this place isn´t abandoned anymore. they are building apartments on the area.

I went there yesterday and unfortunately construction work has already begun. Inside the buildings is nothing anymore. Still, worth to go and see for now, as the outer shell of the buildings is off and they all have a very ugly dark orange color now. I would recommend a Sunday though, because even yesterday I had the feeling that there were workers and cars around. Access is easy, there is a bus stop and behind that the fence is bent down. Just hop over as soon as you don’t see cars for a minute 🙂

Hi, I just found this. In the mid 1990s, me and my sister attended a summer german language program at Humboldt Universitaet. There were students from many countries, and they had Humboldt students take us on trips around the city, and they had classes in the morning. They used the buildings to the NW side as dormitories for Humboldt. Probably regular students had other dorms downtown and they used this for special programs like this where people were there for short term. I remember several of the other buildings appeared to have nonstudents who may have been refugees or immigrants from Poland or Africa. There was a bank of pay phones with a line. But, I distinctly remembering walking to the end of this street and other dormitory buildings were surrounded by barbed wire, and there were some official police or government cars there. We couldn’t figure out what their purpose was. Germany was more behind in the internet in the 1990s, although it is probably more advanced than the US in the current era as far as high speed access. It wasn’t abandoned at the time and they were mowing the lawns.

Hi, I visited yesterday and they seem to have repaired the holes that you mentioned. I did still find a way in right at the back where one of the metal sheets was open( be careful with the rusty barbed wire) , it’s a bit of a squeeze but it’s managable,they might fix it soon. though, so be quick!

Not recommned, buildings looks all like the same (“Plattenbau”), of which the most rooms are used as a latrine, there is also danger from asbestos.
Also there is (in my case nice) security.
Don´t waste your time and visit another object.
