Abandoned Berlin is an attempt to remember the past through the present and capture memories in the air, to recover histories forgotten behind rusty fences, to uncover stories blanketed by dust and cobwebs, and to release trapped unfortunates waiting for recognition under shards of travesty and the ignorance of indifference.

Places change all the time. They come, they go. Some places on this site are no longer with us. We’re only left with the photos and stories. But most are still accessible. Check the latest comments before you go. But the best way to find out is to go yourself.

Some people don’t like that Abandoned Berlin publishes addresses to locations – they argue it leaves them open to vandals. But vandals never had any trouble finding these places before.

Of course, the biggest vandal is the city of Berlin, the investors, and “progress.”

Nothing stays abandoned for long.
