Iraqi embassy

They sure were in a hurry when they left the Iraqi embassy to East Germany in 1991. Papers were strewn everywhere, files, important documents, files, letters, photos, names, addresses; mountains of them – everything left behind.

It’s still abandoned to this day, but of course it has deteriorated over the years since AB’s first visit in 2010.

The pictures below are from 2014. The intervening years took their toll…

By the time 2023 rolled around, the Iraqi embassy was a blackened shell. Some people like it that way.
